Annual update

FORGOTTEN LUNCHES - Ideally it is best to send your student's lunch with them in the morning.  However, we understand that some lunches are forgotten.  The new procedure is for you to take your student's lunch into the MPR and drop it off on the table located between the milk cooler and the lunch card cart.  The table has a tablecloth on it with Green Apples.  Please deposit your student's lunch on that table.  Please communicate to your student that if they forget their lunch, to check the lunch table in the MPR. Please make sure your studet's name is on the lunch box or bag!

Drop-off and pick-up safety, please read

  • Allow additional time each morning due to high traffic volume around the campus, we are in a residential area.
  • Student's should arrive at school no earlier than 8:15, we have no supervision on the playground. This can be dangerous!
  • Carpool, bike or walk to help reduce the volume of vehicle traffic.
  • Drop off location is designated at the front of the school.
  • Cars MUST be in the yellow zone for students to exit a vehicle safely.
  • Double parking blocks the visibility for walkers and drivers creating a safety issue.
  • Be respectful of designated Auction Winner, Handicap and Staff parking spots. (These are clearly marked).
  • Don't honk or rev your engine to scare a pedestrian, even if you have the right of way. (Children get startled)
  • Never pass a vehicle stopped for pedestrians.
  • Always use extreme caution to avoid striking pedestrians wherever they may be, no matter who has the right of way.
  • Parents that park and walk up, may wait for the child in between the right side of the MPR and Kindergarten fence area. Students can get lost in the shuffle if there is a cluster of parents in the designated area.
  • Please refer to our Parent/Student Handbook for more details

"Common Sense Education is dedicated to helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology.  We empower parents, teachers, and policymakers by providing unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help them harness the power of media and technology as a positive force in all kids’ lives.

Media and technology are at the very center of all our lives today -- especially our children’s.  Kids today spend over 50 hours of screen time every week. The media content they consume and create has a profound impact on their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.  Learning how to use media and technology wisely is an essential skill for life and learning in the 21st century. But parents, teachers, and policymakers struggle to keep up with the rapidly changing digital world in which our children live and learn.  Now more than ever, they need a trusted guide to help them navigate a world where change is the only constant."

Here is a link to Common Sense Media’s website their goal is to "help families make smart media choices. We offer the largest, most trusted library of independent age-based and educational ratings and reviews for movies, games, apps, TV shows, websites, books, and music.  Our Parent Concerns and Parent Blog help families understand and navigate the problems and possibilities of raising children in the digital age.”  Form more information, please click on the link below.
